North Macedonia’s producer price reaches all time high in June

SKOPJE, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) — North Macedonia’s Industrial Producer Price Index (PPI) rose to new high of 116.7 points in June, the State Statistics Office of North Macedonia reported on Friday.
The figure was 115.7 points in May.
Yearly increase in PPI was 1.1 percent in June, in which mining and quarrying sector rose by 14.8 percent, while electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector saw a yearly increase of 9.8 percent. As for manufacturing sector, the yearly increase was only 0.8 percent.
High growth rate in price for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector can be easily transformed into CPI, which saw a yearly rise of 3.2 percent in June. And price gap between mining cost and manufacturing sector’s price may pose pressure on industrial sector in the country. ■
